THE FACTS
When looking at data (click here) about official recidivism and technical recidivism among youths that are involve in the Juvenile system. It clearly shows there is a need for good and strong mentoring programs in Orlando.
The amount of youths enrolling in school gang are rising tremendously. According to Federal Data, the amount of youth involved in gang activity have increased from 2001 to 2005 and has since remained constant. Over the past decade, annual estimates of the number of gangs have averaged about 25,000 nationally and the number of gang members has been about 750,000. Click here for more info.
How do we address this issue? Because we know now it is happening. Sometimes, due to lack knowledge about resources available in the community we fail our children. Our Mentoring Program is designed to connect people with a shared passion to uplift, motivate and empower the next generation for the future.
If we looked back at the things we used to do, when we were young. If Juvenile Justice system was as strict as it is today. How many of us would have made it to where we are today? Imagine living in a world with so many distractions, so many laws to know, so much to remember and so on. Peer pressure is getting stronger than ever. Confusion is multiplying at an exponential speed. How can we expect them to keep up by themselves?
No one came to earth knowing the right thing to do. No matter how good we are at parenting. We must admit, your child at home will never be the same among friends. Let's guide and protect our children from oncoming influences, while remembering they need age appropriate treatment.
